EAGAN, Minnesota (December 18, 2012) — Catallia Mexican Foods, LLC has been a leading supplier of tortillas in the food industry; including premium flour, 100% whole grain tortillas and all-natural flavored wraps for a number of years. Catallia’s newest addition to its 100% whole wheat, whole grain, lower sodium product line is the 9” size that meets new USDA school menu regulations without compromising quality or taste, and also provides even more menu versatility.
After attending the SNA Convention in July of 2012, Catallia is fulfilling attendee’s requests to provide a tortilla that meets the new USDA regulations by offering a 9 inch tortilla. The new Catallia S.M.A.R.T. tortilla offers 100% whole wheat, whole grain in a size that fits many menu applications and meets the new regulations. The new tortilla provides a 2 oz. equivalent serving and contains 33g of 100% whole grain meeting the minimum of 16g of grain per 1 oz. The new S.M.A.R.T. tortilla also contains a lower level of sodium than others in the marketplace.
